Neutro FAQ

Everything You Need to Know

From everyday water changes to unusual water conditions, here are answers to common questions about using Neutro.

Does Neutro treat chlorine and chloramine?

Yes. Neutro is formulated to neutralize both chlorine and chloramine commonly found in municipal tap water.

What happens to the ammonia released from chloramine?

When chloramine is treated, ammonia can be released. Neutro helps detoxify ammonia so it can be processed by the aquarium's biological filtration.

Does Neutro detoxify heavy metals?

Yes. Neutro also helps detoxify heavy metals that may be present in tap water, providing more complete conditioning during water changes.

Can I use Neutro in saltwater aquariums?

Yes. Neutro can be used for water conditioning in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums.

Can I add Neutro directly to my aquarium?

Yes. Neutro can be added to replacement water before it enters the aquarium or dosed directly into the aquarium during a water change. Use the appropriate amount for the water being treated.

Can Neutro be overdosed?

For normal water changes, use the recommended dose of 1 mL per 10 gallons. Avoid unnecessary overdosing and always maintain normal aquarium circulation and aeration.

Will Neutro affect aquarium water tests?

Some water conditioners can temporarily influence the way certain test kits measure water parameters after treatment. If a reading seems unusual immediately after conditioning, follow the instructions supplied with your test kit and retest as appropriate.

Does Neutro have a strong sulfur smell?

Neutro is formulated to provide powerful water conditioning without the strong odor associated with some concentrated aquarium water conditioners.
