Awesome for my heavily planted, low tech, 10gal aqua scape.

I’m super happy with this fertilizer. My water lettuce had been suffering so badly to the point where I lost 95% of them, but then I added this and they are bouncing right back. I didn’t take a photo of before, but I do have a photo of a couple weeks after use when they started to grow back and then again ten days later. You can see how much they are thriving now! My shrimp are super happy and so are the rest of my plants honestly. Water lettuce is always just the most dramatic and is going to be the best gauge of tank health.

Pearling without co2!

After so much research, I decided to try Thrive's all in one fertilizer. I figured this would be the easiest and effortless way to get micros and macros. When I first opened it, I thought my pump was broken, but I pressed down and started twisting it and it worked. Maybe, if they make it easier to put the pump on it'd be an easy 5 star product! The first picture of the plant inside of a shell shows some yellowing leaves. This was BEFORE adding Thrive. If you look closely, you'll see some very deep, rich green leaves coming in...that is AFTER adding Thrive! I am currently going slow on the dosage. I have a 75g tank with 28 neons, 8 white clouds, 7 panda corys, 2 mystery snails, and one nerite snail (shrimp are set to arrive soon, which is why I went with the shrimp safe version). I notice no difference in my fish/snail's behavior. They seem healthy and vibrant. I'm sticking to 1/2 doses after my weekly 25%-30% water changes. I'm not looking to chase a nitrate number, just observing plant's overall health. After adding just 1/2 dosage for two weeks, my plants have come alive! My hornwort and Java Moss (photo with tetra photobombing) were getting pretty brown and the hornwort was shedding a lot. You can see in the photos they are becoming greener and even have pearling going on without any co2 machine.I'm truly impressed with this product! You get a good amount for the money and depending on your tank size, this will last you a while! Again, I have a 75g and I'm dosing 1/2 since plants are doing well with this amount and my nitrates are not skyrocketing! The size of this product is good to last a while!Overall, if you have a planted tank, don't want the hassle of figuring out ways to get micros and macros, GO WITH THIS FERTILIZER! It's working really well for my plants and community of fish. I will purchase again when I run out.

Product works!

Amazing! Within two weeks my stunted growth, brown leaf plants went to almost jungle like on almost all types. Red leaves are very red. All my amano Shirmp are great.Heavy brown algae issue on leaves and glass, gone!I use 4 pumps twice a week in my 20 gallon.

Works for me!

Bought this a long time ago for our 3 tanks. Never used it consistently until recently… twice a week in my very heavily planted 75g paludarium for the past few weeks. It’s working great! A tiger lotus that I thought died two years ago popped up some leaves. Crypts are greener and growing. My dwarf bluebell bloomed today. The only downside is now the few little duckweeds that have been sparse and floating around randomly for 2 years are now multiplying rapidly… I’ll slow it down a little just for that reason. Duckweed is the worst!

Perfect condition on arrival

Everything as it should be as far as shipping. No broken pump. Bottle had a cap and safety seal. Fertilizer was a brownish color and had a smell, not a bad smell, just not plain water like some people claim. I added this fertilizer at 60% dosing to my 10, 20, and 55 gallon planted shrimp tanks. Everything seems okay for now. If anything bad happens I will edit this post. If the fertilizer boosts plant growth I'll come back and do a follow up.Follow up: 4 days later my plants have grown a substantial amount!!! I'll add a few photos before and after in my 55 gallon. Raising star rating from 4 to 5!I've seen substantial positive (hornwort) plant reaction over night! All fish AND SHRIMP are doing well.

Immediate improvement for nutrient deficient plants

I was using API Leaf Zone and my plants were still showing major nutrient deficiencies, a few hours after adding this to the tank the plants already look much better! Shrimp are unbothered.

Pump head missing

Pump was broken when it showed up (not even in the package) and dosing is based on pumps so you need it.

Good fertilizer BUT...

The fertilizer is fantastic and has allowed me to grow luscious plants while keeping my shrimps safe and happy. The only downside of this bottle is that it's the SECOND bottle I've received where the squirt topper has come broken. It's simply too fragile and can't survive the shipping process. 5 star fertilizer, but loses a star for the weak squirt lid.

Arrived with a broken pump

I was excited for the fertilizer to arrive, but unfortunately the pump was broken. The bottle itself is still OK so I'm not going to try to refund it, but it is going to be a bit more of a pain to use.

Worth the price!

First time buying this product since i got shrimp. Before I just used API and my plants never perked up. They were merely just surviving. I noticed an immediate color difference with 1 use of Thrive. My plants no longer have yellow/brown edges. Everything is so green and actually growing!!! I haven’t had any shrimp die either. Highly recommend.I wish I had taken before photos, but for reference my moss tubes were almost all brown when now it’s 99% green after The first application of Thrive. My duckweed has taken off too. Amazon sword has never looked healthier. Hornwort is no longer yellow.

I love the product, had to stop weekly dosing can’t see in my tank anymore lol

Not a bad product, seems to work really well.

Leaving original review to show I'm man enough to admit my original assumptions were wrong. But while I had issues early on, I believe I landed on where things went pear shaped so to speak. This does seem to be a solid product so much so, that I'm looking at the 4k ml bottle to toss on top of the two 500ml I got now into my 5k res.But pics show growth not otherwise achieved in what I think is two weeks without this doing something right. And yes the tannins / blackwater is on purpose, and I like it thst way if it keeps the right shading lolPoint being. Seems to be a pretty solid product for an invert tank w fish.---------I naturally have 0, 0, 0 for amonia, nitrites and nitrates.Yes my 30g systems that nice.Day 1, 6 squirts; 2 hrs later 0 nitratesDay 2, 6 squirts; 2 hrs later 0 nitratesDay 3, 18 squirts; 2 hrs later 0 nitratesGlad I paid $40 for 1,000ml of a urine colored liquid that by all accounts is nothing but dyed water!

Best fertilizer for tanks with inverts

I absolutely LOVE this fertilizer. It worked almost too well in my tank lol. A little goes a very long way. I usually cannot grow a plant in an aquarium or out of an aquarium. I have a black thumb plain and simple. I kill all plants. But with this fertilizer, holy moly my plants took off and I really needed a bigger tank just for the plants. I highly suggest it!

The best there is for shrimp tanks

This is by far the best liquid fertilizer I have used. My plant growth and my shrimp population exploded. Five stars for a great product. Also customer service was great. My order came with two broken pumps probably from the delivery guy throwing my package. The customer service was great and they immediately sent me two replacement pumps.

Thriving plants

A
Around About
Plants started growing like crazy

So about a year ago I've set up a 10g high tech shrimp tank with ADA soil and things were going great until soil nutrients started getting depleted. Since it is a heavily planted Caridina (CRS) tank, I avoided putting any fertilizer in it until it was absolutely necessary. Slowly the growth of many plants has stopped and I've started observing signs of nutrient deficiencies (dwarf baby tears carpet stopped growing and started dying out and weak leaves on Alternanthera Reineckii mini and other plants).Decided to go with this product (as I've used it 3 years ago as well) and dosing only half of the recommended dosage once a week I have observed incredible plant growth after just 3 weeks (that is right, after adding cumulatively only 1.5-2ml of this fertilizer during 3 week period). I have not found any dead shrimp, neither I had these issues 3 years ago with RCS tank so people having problems with this fert either got a bad batch or were overdosing their tanks. Before and After photos attached. Look at the HC carpet to the right of the driftwood and make conclusions for yourself. This was a change in 3 weeks. Alternanthera Reineckii Mini bottom leaves were already "done" by then but the new growth at the top is bright and healthy as well. (disclaimer on the saturation difference between the two shots - I noticed the newer shot is much more saturated as if it was artificially tweaked but it was the cameras decision. In any case just pay attention to the colors, there is a lot less brown foliage comparing to the old shot)

Excited to see results, caution while opening!

Picture is on day 1; I’m excited to see the tank in 30 days. Ignore the big filter down the middle as it’s helping to kickstart my cycle. The pros: no weird smell and easy to use and dose; 1 pump per 5 gallons. I like the pump feature instead of pouring something into a cap and potentially spilling it everywhere. The cons: Unfortunately, the product isn’t packaged that well. Came in a box with no added security or tape. The roughness the package received during transportation caused the box to open and break one of the pump heads so hopefully the one I have will last a while.

It works VERY well!!

This is a before and after picture of how thrive helped my plants grow a lot. This is about a month and a half after 2 times a week use. Now I add some in maybe once a week or every other week as I cannot keep up with growth. I highly recommend this product. My Amano and neocardina shrimp were completely unaffected. All of my fish and snails also were unaffected. Would 10/10 recommend this product to anyone with a low tech tank looking to help give their plants a nice boost!

ThriveS FAQ

Simple questions. Clear answers.

Everything you need to make ThriveS part of your planted shrimp aquarium routine.

How much ThriveS should I dose?
Dose 1 mL of ThriveS for every 5 gallons of aquarium water. Base the dose on the actual water volume in the aquarium.
How often should I use ThriveS?
Dose 1–3 times per week depending on lighting, plant load and the needs of your aquarium.
Do I need to mix ThriveS with water first?
No. Measure the appropriate amount and add ThriveS directly to the aquarium.
Does ThriveS contain copper?
ThriveS is formulated without added copper. The current ThriveS ingredient list does not include a copper source.
Do I need a special water-change schedule when using ThriveS?
No special schedule is specified. Continue with the normal maintenance and water-change routine that works for your aquarium.
What nutrients are included in ThriveS?
ThriveS supplies nitrogen, available phosphate, soluble potash, magnesium, sulfur, boron, iron, manganese, molybdenum and zinc.
What is the difference between the 500 mL bottle and refill jugs?
The formula is the same. The 500 mL bottle is the everyday Easy-Dose package, while the 2000 mL and 4000 mL sizes are larger refill formats.
If Thrive, Thrive+ and ThriveC are safe for shrimp, why do you have ThriveS?

It comes down to the focus of the aquarium. If shrimp are the primary focus of the tank, ThriveS is the better choice. If plants are the primary focus, choose Thrive, Thrive+ or ThriveC based on the type of planted aquarium.

Shrimp-focused aquariums benefit from stable water conditions, and their normal maintenance routines may differ from more plant-focused systems. ThriveS is designed to fit into a shrimp-focused aquarium's normal maintenance and water-change schedule.

Thrive, Thrive+ and ThriveC can also be used in aquariums containing shrimp, but those formulas are centered around the nutritional demands of the plants.

Is ThriveS only for shrimp-only aquariums?
ThriveS is intended for shrimp aquariums that also contain live plants. It provides planted-aquarium nutrition while keeping the shrimp-focused nature of the aquarium at the center of the routine.
